The Ukrainian Association in Finland is a Helsinki-based association founded in 1997. The main goals of the association are the unification and representation of Ukrainians living in Finland, preserving the achievements of Ukrainian culture and making Ukraine known to a wide audience.
After Russia attacked Ukraine, the association immediately began to focus its activities on helping Ukrainians coming to Finland and those still in Ukraine. The association’s first projects were the establishment of a logistics center and the Center for Ukrainians.
The logistics center in Vantaa works in cooperation with Auta Ukrainaa (Help Ukraine) – the donation service, collecting and transporting donated goods and food to Ukraine.
A team of 60 volunteers works in the logistics center, which consists of Ukrainians who fled the war, Ukrainians who have lived in Finland for a long time, and Finns. Twice a week, they sort the goods and supplies received as a donation, which they pack and load into trucks and cars for transport to Ukraine.
Up to now, the Logistics Center has already delivered approx. 7,000 m³ of supplies and food aid to Ukraine with the help of 46 trucks and countless cars.
