The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has approved Econia Oy as a member of the European cooperation network of employment services (EURES). Econia Oy co-operates with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, the KEHA Center and other TE administration.
EURES membership enables Econia to work directly with European EURES actors and brings benefits in terms of targeting and speed of recruitment. Through this membership, effective co-operation with European educational institutions is also realized, which means that newly graduated experts can be attracted to Finland.
For Econia, membership means official and respected operating status in the employment of European employees in Finland. There are many vacancies in Finland for which it is challenging and even impossible to find workers in the Finnish market. The search for experts in certain professions on a European scale guarantees the operating conditions and growth opportunities for customers in these fields. “For example, it has been difficult to find certain types of welding expertise in Finland. EURES membership makes it easier for our customers to find skilled workers, ” says Heimo Alatalo, Director for HR Services at Econia.
EURES is a European cooperation network for employment services, set up in 1994. The aim of the network is to facilitate the free movement of workers in Europe. The network covers all EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The aim is for European citizens to have the same opportunities throughout Europe, regardless of linguistic and cultural differences, bureaucracy, different legislation and shortcomings in the recognition of qualifications.
In addition to public employment services, other employment services and organizations that provide services to jobseekers and employers can apply for EURES membership or partnership, depending on the services they provide. A EURES member offers all EURES services.
