New duty for contractrors

New legislation has been adopted on a monthly reporting duty for contractors on their construction contracts and construction workers.

Provisions on these new requirements are given in the Act on Assessment Procedure and the Act on Occupational Safety. They will enter into force on 1 July 2014. The first time when contractors must file reports will be in September 2014. The new duty to report information concerns the construction industry including builders, businesses, self-employed independent contractors and workers.

There are requirements to all companies present at Olkiluoto 3 construction site as each company is obligated to:
– report employees to main contractor (Areva-Siemens Consortium) and
– also to provide information on a contract to Tax Administration in case it is about ordering a construction service
